Samsung's Upcoming Smartphones To Flaunt 3 GB RAM

Bangalore: Electronics major Samsung has started manufacturing 3 GB RAM to power its next line of devices which will be launched early next year, reports Economic Times.

The South Korean manufacturer in an attempt to be the front runner and boosting the sales will use these high-end RAMs that can provide huge power efficiency adding to the faster data transfer rates. With only 0.8mm in height, the new RAM will also reduce the size of entire device, creating slimmer Smartphones that can accommodate bigger batteries.

According to Young-Hyun Jun, EVP, memory sales & marketing of Samsung Electronics, "We will develop a new 3GBLPDDR3 solution based on four 6GBLPDDR3 DRAM chips by symmetrically stacking two chips on each side, which will boost Smartphone performance to the next level by year-end."

The first Smartphone rumored to carry 3 GB Ram is Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3, which will be released in April. Also, LG’s upcoming flagship G2 is rumored to flaunt 3 GB RAM.

Most of the current Android flagships including HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4, Google Nexus 4 and Sony Xperia Z carry 2 GB RAMs, while the Windows Phone Smartphones are still stuck with 1 GB.
