Samsung Unveils Low-Budget & User-Friendly VR Headset

BENGALURU: Samsung is for sure making its mark in history of Virtual Reality (VR )technology. The company unveiled its first consumer-friendly virtual reality headset Gear VR and it is available for an attractive price of $99, reports Indian Express.

You have to own VR headphones to see this real-time 3D world. The VR headset can be connected to all the new Samsung phones the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge Plus or Note 5. Your phones connect to the Gear VR headset just in front of the lens for your eyes. The image shifts according to the user turning his head, and the screen projects slightly different perspectives to your left and right eyes to give the virtual world depth.

Although the device is a major advancement to happen in virtual reality world, there are many things we find amateurish. The Gear VR is meant for use while sitting down on a chair; you can’t walk around and explore your virtual environment.

The Vive, the Sony PlayStation VR and the Oculus Rift have a lot to offer than Samsung’s Gear VR. But when it comes to the price, this device can sure impress the audience.
