Samsung Series 5 Ultrabooks Hits Indian Market


Bangalore: Samsung launched its new of range series 5 Ultrabooks last month at Consumer Electronics Show 2012 in Las Vegas. The Indian market is going to see this new series 5 Ultrabook in two models; the 13 inch model costing 48990 and the 14 inch model costing 54390.

Both the variants of this ultrabook have similar specifications; dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Core i5-2467M processors, 500GB hard disk/16GB SSD hybrid drive and a 1366 x 768 resolution screen. For connectivity both has WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI output, a 4-in-1 card slot, and two USB 2.0 ports.

The 14inch gets 6GB of DDR3 RAM, a Radeon HD7550 graphic chip, an optical drive and weighs 1.8 kilogram, while the 13inch has a 4GB of DDR3 RAM, an integrated Intel graphics, a USB 3.0 and weighs just 1.4 kilograms.

Along with these ultrabooks, Samsung has also introduces series 9 ultrabooks at CES 2012 and currently these series 9 ultrabooks are available only on web in U.S.  The series 9 ultrabooks also comes in two variant: 13 inch model will cost $1399 and the 15 inch model will cost $1499. In India the price of these ultrabooks is estimated to be around 55000 to 80000 and its availability is not confirmed yet.
