Samsung Launches Low-Cost Phone With 4.4 Kitkat

BANGALORE: Another smart move from Samsung; this South Korean giant launched a new android Galaxy Star 2 Plus in the Indian markets. Star Plus 2 is an upgrade version of Samsung Galaxy Star 2. This latest android phone comes with the latest Android 4.4 KitKat version, pricing at just 7, 335 only.

Surely, Samsung has launched this budget-android to set competition for smartphones like Moto E and Micromax Unite 2 in this range. Although Samsung has unveiled about the phone on its website and on India’s e-store, but still the phone is not available in the markets officially.

Samsung Galaxy Star 2 Plus offers a 4.30 inch display with 480 X 800 pixels resolution. The smartphone is powered with a 1.2 GHz processor. The rear camera is 3-megapixels, but the Selfie-lovers will be disappointed as it does not have a front camera. However, the battery backup will stand for long hours as the phone has an 1800 mAh battery capacity.

The phone supports software like Java and Wi-Fi is available. If you are seeking for a proximity sensor and accelerometer, you are up to a right phone but if you long for temperature sensor or ambient light sensor, spend more money to buy another smartphone.

At this affordable price, one cannot expect high RAM but still Samsung manages to put 512 MB RAM. The internal storage is 4 GB and expandable storage is upto 32 GB.
