BENGALURU: Chinese Smartphone companies dominate the Smartphone sector in India. However, in the midst of this batter for market share, India’s own Micromax unveiled Yu Yuphoria at a conference held in New Delhi. The phone is a combination of good specification at an affordable price. Let us take a closer look at the new Smartphone from Micromax, reports Firstpost.





Design and Looks



The phone comes with a removable rear cover, which is made of plastic. However, it features a metallic frame and helps in getting a good grip over the Smartphone. It is being offered in two color combinations: Buffed Steel and Champagne Gold. On the right side, Yuphoria has provided power button between the volume buttons, which is unique in its design.





Hardware and Software



Yu Yuphoria is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset and a Quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The phone is perfect for console gamers as it comes equipped with an Adreno 306 graphics processing unit along with an impressive 2GB RAM. It offers 16GB internal memory, thus allowing the phone to store huge amounts of data.



Yuphoria features Cyanogen OS 12, which is a fork of Google’s Android operating system. The new OS 12 offers several features such as: customizing the audio output, screen casting, and YuUniverse, which is a customized version of Opera Web Browser. Another unique feature, which is absent in Android 5.0 (Lollipop), is Themer, an app that customizes font and wallpaper.





Display and Camera



The phone boasts a 5-inch display screen that comes with a HD resolution. It has a crisp display as it has an impressive 294 pixels per inch (ppi). Minor bumps and bruises do not affect the display screen of Yuphoria as it comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It sports a decent 8MP rear and a 5MP front camera, which also offers HDR mode that, clicks amazing low-light photographs.





Battery and Conclusion



The 2230mAh battery that comes with Yu Yuphoria, lasts an entire day but, on heavy usage, it can still last up to 8 hours. However, the phone offers quick charging and has a removable battery. The phone offers 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and a decent 8-megapixels rear camera only at a minimal cost of Rs.6,999. It makes a perfect buy for anyone who has limited budget but, still wants a good specification.
