Remix Mini: First Mini-PC To Run On Android


BANGALORE: Android for tablets is what we have seen till now, have you ever imagined a computer that’s running on, but will be seeing from now on, reports NDTV.

Remix Mini, the mini-PC that runs on Android is manufacutured by the Beijing-based Jide Tech. The company has created its own OS called Remix OS, based on Android customized to add desktop features like the task bar and multi-window tasking in a list of other features.

The PC is designed be used with a mouse and keyboard, among other specifications are 1.2GHz 64-bit quad-core processor with two models based on storage  and RAM- the 1GB RAM will have 8 GB storage priced $20 (approx. 1,275) and the 2GB RAM model will have  16 GB storage priced $40 (approx. 2,500). The storage can be further increased by USB ports that connect to an external HDD, also include a microSD port. To connect to display a HDMI port is available, for Wi-Fi, and an Ethernet port, along with a 3.5mm jack for headphones or speakers.

The PC though a desktop and developed version of Android, it will run Android apps. The PC is expected to release sometime before October 2015 and is supposed to be delivered anywhere in the world. This new idea is sure to catch some eyeballs but its reception depends on the time.
