RIM to Launch Blackberry Playbook 4G on 9th August


Bangalore: Research In Motion (RIM) to keep up with its competitors in the tablet market has launched their new tablet, PLayBook 4G and LTE. The tablets will be available worldwide. But as the first country to receive the tablet will be Canada on August 9th, 2012. After this the tablet will be launched in other countries.

The new Blackberry PlayBook is powered by a 1.5 Ghz processor which enhances the speed as well as the performance. Feature and specifications wise this new PLayBook 4G/LTE is similar to the previous PlayBook. The new PlayBook also sports a 7-inch capacitive touch screen display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. It also features a 5 mega pixel rear camera. That is not all it also has a front facing camera with 3 mega pixels for video calls and chats.

On the storage front, it is available only in one memory variant of 32 GB. There won’t be any 64 GB tablet in this version.

Though there is sad news for the BlackBerry fans in India as RIM hasn’t announced anything about the availability of the tablet in the Indian markets. We just have to wait and watch if the launch in the rest of the world includes India or not!
