RIM Playbook priced from $399 onwards
Bangalore: For all those keen on the RIM Playbook, it's rumoured to be priced at $399(approx 18, 200) for 16GB. But as the size doubles up, it increases $100 i.e. 32GB will cost $499(22, 400) and 64GB will cost $599(27, 800). The playbook will be launched only in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2011 but will go global in the second quarter. Although the announcement of the exact dates has not yet been done, the officials state that the exact dates will be revealed very soon. The pricing of the RIM Playbook is in competition with the Apple iPad and Dell Streak which is mandatory for them to build up their shares in the tablet market. A 7-inch multitouch LCD display, 5-megapixel camera with an additional 3-megapixel front-facing camera, 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM will be provided with all the different versions of the Playbook. There are a few rumours wavering about the versions being only Wi-fi with an ability to bind to a BlackBerry for data services.
