Pre-Order Samsung Galaxy Beam 'Projector Phone' for 29,900


Bangalore: Samsung has kept its word. Back in February the company announced that the phone would be available in the market by the second quarter and they have delivered. Samsung has started taking pre-orders for is Galaxy Beam smartphone which is also known as “the projector phone”. This Android smartphone comes with a built-in projector and will cost you 29,900.

Projector Phone:

This isn’t the first projector phone in the market. These phones have been in the market for quite some time. But the main drawback in all the phones was that they were bulky and not very attractive. Here is where the Samsung Galaxy Beam is different, it measures only 0.49-inches and comes along with a 15 lumens projector, which in itself is an improvement as most of the projector accessories in the market right now are only 10 or 12 lumens bright. The phone boats of projecting the video images or PowerPoint Presentations up to 50-inches wide, and the resolution of this projected video is 640 X 360 pixels. According to the company the phone will be able to project video for at least three hours after which it will have to be recharged again.

Standard specs

Apart from the built-in projector feature the rest of the specs are similar to a high end Android handset. The Samsung Galaxy Beam has a 4-inch WVGA TFT LCD Display This phone is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and has an internal memory of 8GB along with a microSD slot with expandable memory up to 32GB. This phone comes with a 5 megapixel camera along with a flash. Though the current operating system is Android Gingerbread, it will be soon upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich.

The phone has a bright yellow band that runs along the edge of the phone which forms a nice contrast with the black body.
