Bangalore: Lumia 920, the newly revealed flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone of Nokia is priced up to 25 percent higher than it major competitor Samsung Galaxy S3. This move may bounce back the attempt of Nokia to restore its previous position in the market.
The Lumia 920 runs on Microsoft’s latest Windows Phone 8 platform whereas Galaxy S3 runs on Google’s Android, the platform which controls a major part in smartphone market. In terms of hardware specification both the smartphones are pretty much similar which may create more difficulty for Nokia to explain the reason of the extra cost to the customers.
According to the experts Nokia Lumia 920 lacks the “wow” factor to challenge its rival, Samsung Galaxy S3. Windows Phones has just about 3 percent of global smartphone market shares and by keeping a high price of the new release Nokia may possibly face challenge to attract the consumers.
