Nokia Launches Lumia 1020: The Smartphone With World's Biggest Camera


Bangalore: Adding the strength of a 41 megapixel camera to its Lumia series, Nokia has unveiled Lumia 1020, a toughest competitor to the Android rivals who are in ever-continuing efforts to produce the best Camera Smartphone.

Lumia 1020 brings Nokia’s famous 41 megapixel sensor embedded into the thin body of Lumia with features including dual capture that simultaneously takes a high resolution 38 megapixel image and a 5 megapixel one. The former can be used for high quality editing purpose while the later for easy sharing into social networks.

The phone is also equipped with a 1.2 megapixel HD front camera with wide angle support. The 41 megapixel sensor features Zeiss optics with six physical lenses and optical image stabilization.

The other specs include a 4.5-inch AMOLED WXGA (1280×768) display protected by a 2.5 D sculpted Corning Gorilla Glass 3. A 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor powers the device along with 2GB of RAM. The internal memory of device is 32 GB, and Nokia provides 7 GB of free SkyDrive cloud storage.

Nokia decided to keep just a 2000 mAh battery to power the device. However, the built-in wireless charging doesn’t come as standard but can be availed through an attachable cover. The available colours for the device is limited to white, black and yellow

The Smartphone will be available in U.S by July end with AT&T for $299. However, the information about the global rollout and price are still under wraps.
