Nikon takes on GoPro; Unveils KeyMission 360



BANGALORE: The camera pioneer, Nikon has entered the action cam arena by unveiling its first durable, compact action cam. The new camera is dubbed as KeyMission 360 as the name suggests it can capture 360-degree video at any condition in ultra-sharp quality -4K, reports HT.

The KeyMission 360 is rugged box-shaped camera which has two image sensors with lenses positioned on either side to capture video in 4K resolution. The footage from each lens is stitched within the camera to build a single HD 360-degree clip.

The novel action camera from Nikon is waterproof up to 30m (100ft) also the device can with stand dust, shocks and cold temperatures without any additional cover. The camera features electronic Vibration Reduction, Nikon's image stabilization technology as it will help avoid minor shakes while recording videos.

With this launch Nikon directly has taken on GoPro which also announced its 360-degree video camera last year and yet not available in the market. The interesting part of the KeyMission 360 is that it can capture 360-degree video with the help of just 2 lenses. Which also announced its 360-degree video camera last year and yet not available in the market. The 360-degree cameras made by other companies achieve capturing 360-degree video using 8 lenses.

There’s no official wording on the price of new Nikon KeyMission 360 but the firm confirmed that it will be released in the spring along with variety of dedicated accessories.
