Nextbit 'Robin', A Phone With Unlimited Storage Now Up For Pre-Order

BENGALURU: Nextbit’s Robin, a Smartphone, new to the market with its unique feature of unlimited storage on the phone is all set, and is up to pre-order on its Kickstarter page. It can be preordered for $399 (approximately 26,000) and it can be shipped to India at an additional $70 (approximately 4,600), reports Tech2.

The company Nextbit was formed by former employees of HTC, Google and Apple. Robin is the company’s debut smartphone, which gives unlimited storage by which the user can access cloud storage once the 32GB on-board storage runs out. When the phones storage is full, it will free the space by letting the data get saved in the 100GB cloud storage that is allotted to the handset.

Nextbit has its own OS running on top of Android and designed to learn your habits. It automatically pushes unused apps and services onto the cloud and you can get all the things back on to the system with just one tap.

This rectangular handset features a 5.2-inch 1080p display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB of RAM. It runs on 2,680mAh battery and has a 13MP rear snapper. It also includes USB Type-C charging port and fingerprint scanner.

Every other company offers Cloud storage, but what makes Nextbit’s handset is that it backs up content intelligently when it is plugged to a Wi-Fi and without the need for user to free space. The company plans 100GB storage space for every user that can be further adjusted in case the user requires more space.
