Microsoft India Plans To Sign 4G Data-Bundling Pact with Airtel


BENAGLURU: As the Indian Smartphone market is getting piled up with introduction of 4G smart phones, the network providers in the country are all set the face the competition on one another and are beefed with their own strategies for the upcoming year as reported by Kalyan Parbat/ ET.

Relatively the latest news is that, Microsoft which is expected to launch its new models powered by the 4G connectivity is apparently tying up with the Airtel and buyers of the Microsoft 4G phones shall be given with free Airtel 4G Data packages.

Lumia 950 or 950 XL of Microsoft, are expected to be launched during the Christmas holidays and will run on the Windows 10 operating system. The free Airtel 4G packages are also available to customers who purchase Lumia 550 as well. Lumia 550 falls under the budget range and is expected to be priced under 10, 000.

On the other hand the Reliance is expected to launch its Jio 4G networks before New Year and its rival Airtel has also announced it plans stay alive in the 4G race. According to the company it has intended spend 60,000 crore to upgrade its mobile broadband network, in order to proved seamless 4G connectivity to its customers. Further, before the first quarter of the coming year, Airtel plans to establish 70,000 base stations (BTS.)

Apart from Reliance and Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular are also barging in 4G race, thus the current data tariffs are expected reduce on account of the high-octane 4g challenge in 2016.
