Low-End Smartphone LAVA A67 Hits Indian Smartphone Market


BENGALURU: Well known for its low-end smartphones, LAVA International has recently unveiled its economical smartphone ‘A67’ for Indian customers. The phone will be available soon for a price of 4549.

Supported by 1.2 GHz Quad-core processor, A67 has 4GB internal storage and 512 RAM. The storage capacity is expandable up-to 32GB through microSD card.   The phone has 2 mega-pixels front facing and 5 mega-pixels rear facing cameras. Both the cameras are equipped with LED flash for high quality photo-shoot. On the design side, A67 is offering 5-inch WVGA screen with 800x480 pixels resolution. Weighing barely 154g, the phone is very light to carry. Powered with 2,000mAh battery, the phone is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.

Last month, LAVA has introduced two 4G smartphones namely A72 and A76 for a price of 6,499 and 5,699 respectively. Running on Android Lollipop, both phones are expected to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Furthermore, the company is also pitching for A89 smartphone and expected to launch in coming weeks.

Recently, Lava has signed Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni as its brand ambassador to strengthen its position in the Indian smartphone market where the company is facing tough competition from its Chinese rivals. The company has also set up its first manufacturing plant in Noida, and plans to invest 26.15 billion rupees in a phased manner to raise its annual revenue and total market share in the world’s largest smartphone market. Apart from India, the company is also operating in Africa and some other foreign countries.
