BANGALORE: Back in the days, searching for a job meant running down on newspaper classified ads and pounding the pavement. Although this technique still works, advancement in technology has got everything on the fingertips and so as the newly launched IOS App by Linkedin for job seekers that will in turn save time and give access to exclusive job listings that you may never find printed in the pages of your local papers, reports India TV Tech.
Following the launch of the Job Search app, LinkedIn now has around six standalone app by its name followed by four already unveiled in the last 18 months. The newly launched app is aimed to help users find and apply for new jobs without any distractions as the job search app is private.
The newly introduced IOS app is set to offer a customized search options with a more personalized approach for users, as well as with the option where users can search for jobs by title, location, company, industry and seniority level. Additionally, the app also recommends job seekers on positions based on openings they have viewed and saved.
“Our goal is to help make this process easier for you and to help you be discreet. Everything you do within the app will be completely private and not shared with your network,” said LinkedIn in its official blog post.
“The app is dedicated to helping members find, research, and apply for jobs on-the-go without the distractions of news, content, and other updates,” exclaimed a LinkedIn spokesperson.
The new app by LinkedIn is said to be part of the company’s effort to separate different features from its main LinkedIn website to a completely new service, i.e., mobile apps. As LinkedIn gets 41 percent of customer traffic from mobile users, going by this measure the company expects to move past 50 percent by the end of the year.
The app can be downloaded for free from the iTunes store for Apple users and it is expected to reach other regions soon.
