Lenovo Unveils Lighter, Quicker Laptop

Bangalore: Lenovo unveiled a lighter, quicker ThinkPad notebook worldwide. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon provides the convenience of tablet and smartphone and the utility of a laptop. It was first showcased back in May and the company has now announced the availability. This netbook will be available in the market later this month.

"The latest ThinkPad has third-generation wireless connectivity and other features inspired by tablets and smartphones," said Dilip Bhatia, VP of the ThinkPad business unit. He said that was in response to demands by customers who want a tablet's convenience but need a notebook's wider range of functions, reports TIO.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon sports a 14 inch display and weights only 1.3 kilograms. The company also claims that it will offer up to eight hours of battery life and the start up time is reduced under 20 seconds compared to the previous version of ThinkPad.

The notebook is designed with carbon fiber materials which gives structural strength and durability while minimizing weight. Along with the good battery life and good construction, the notebook is embedded with 3G connectivity.
