LG Stylus 2 Featuring a 5.7-Inch Display, Finally Launched in India


BENGALURU:  South Korean smartphone and electronics manufacturer LG, recently announced the Indian launch of its Stylus 2 device, that had previously been available at the South Korean markets from March. Earlier in February, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) held at Barcelona, LG had confirmed the launch of two devices. And whilst the LG G5 stole the show on that night, the Stylus 2 has since been neglected it seems, till now.

A successor to the previous modeled LG G4 Stylus, launched in India last year, the LG G4 Stylus 2 is set to hit markets soon. One obvious deterrent to its longevity in the Indian consumer market is not belied by its pricing set around the (USD 306) or 20,500 INR mark.

The handset features a 5.7 inch HD display with 1280 X 720 pixels display quality and a pixel density of 258 ppi. The device is powered by a quad-core 1.2 GHz chipset that has been coupled with a 2GB LPDDR3 RAM. It has a primary internal memory capacity of 16 GB, but can be expandable by a further 32GB via microSD cards.

The rear camera on the smartphone features a 13MP primary camera with features like Autofocus, Face detection, Image stabilizer, Touch to focus, and Geo tagging. The front also comes packed with an 8MP camera that captures beautiful selfies. Connectivity options for the device includes support for the 4G LTE bands, and the entire device is backed up by a sturdy 3000mAh battery. The handset measures in at 155x79.6x7.4mm and weighs a nifty 145 grams.

The handset's stylus that newly features a nano-coated tip that allows better accuracy compared to the rubber-tipped pen seen on its predecessor in the LG G4 Stylus. Some other new features showcased in the LG Stylus 2 device encompass Pen Pop that pops up a menu when the stylus is removed and provides shortcuts like the Pop Memo and Pop Scanner. Another interesting feature of the device lies with its Pen Keeper, which notifies users when the Stylus bay is running on empty.

The device features the brands new Android 6.0 Marshmallow, integrated with LG’s own custom UI. LG’s nano-coated stylus is also included in the device package. The smartphone is expected to be available in brown and titanium color variants across the market.
