KizON: LG Wearable Device To Keep Watch On Kids

BANGALORE: LG has launched wrist wearable devices for kids that help the parents to keep a track of their children.
LG is a South Korean company that deals with electronic gadgets. After Android wear based G watches LG is now launching KizON that are wristbands for preschool and primary school kids. The water-resistant and stain resistant wristbands come in exciting bright colors that children love to wear. In these devices, LG has installed software that helps the parents to keep watch on their kids through GPS and Wi-Fi.

Parents can also make calls on these devices and if children don’t give any answer for the call within 10 seconds KizON will automatically connect the call and let the parents listen what is happening in the children’s surrounding using built in microphone. It features only one button on the top that help the kids to make a call.

KizON has 64MB RAM and it run on 2G and 3G networks. It has a 400 mAh battery that gives a battery backup of 36 hours. Parents will automatically get notification when the battery will fall below 25 percent.

KizON comes with cartoon inspired accessories like Hello Kitty. Location reminder is one of the features of KizON that give alerts about kid’s location at specific times throughout the day.

Peter Bradley, director of services at the charity Kidscape said "A parent should never solely rely on a device alone. This will only give a false sense of security. Children still need to be taught about dangers - particularly 'stranger danger'."

The price of KizON is not yet announced. It started selling in South Korea and soon will be out in North America and Europe by October.
