Kinect 2 Said to Read Lips, Sense Mood

Bangalore: The next version of Microsoft’s Kinect motion-sensing platform is so advanced that it will be able to read your lips and sense your mood. The Kinect device released for the next Xbox console will offer improved motion sensing and voice recognition, including the ability to lip read, detect emotions such as anger, and determine player direction. The price of this is 5,142.

Developer source says the next Kinect can even track the pitch and volume of player voices. The new capabilities stem from a higher-resolution camera built into the new devices, as well as more onboard processing power and faster networking hardware which will take the system beyond standard USB.

The next version of Kinect will be able to read lips to interpret what a user is saying, as well as take an estimate of the mood by the volume and tone of your voice, as well as analyze his facial expressions.
