Karbonn Launched India's First Budget Jelly Bean Tablet
Bangalore: Karbonn mobile has announced its upgraded version of SmartTab. This upgraded model is the India’s first budget tablet which will come with the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Operating system onboard. The SmartTab comes with a price tag of
6,999. The tablet was launched in July, 2012 and at that time it came with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. The company has promised that all the existing users of SmartTab will get a Jelly Bean update soon.
Karbonn SmartTab sports a 7-inch tablet with five-point touchscreen having a resolution of 800X 480 pixels, a 2 megapixel front camera and there are pre-loaded apps like Karbonn Smart Browser and Karbonn Smart games.
The device is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor, has a mini HDMI port, a micro SD card slot for storage of up to 32GB, a USB port that can be used to connect 3G USB dongle and also has a 3D gravity sensor to deliver better gaming experience.
Google Nexus 7 was the first tablet to come up with Android Jelly Bean onboard and the increments which this new operating system gives to its devices are Google Now, offline voice typing, expandable notifications and improvements for the Android Beam.
At present the upgraded SmartTab is available on Karbonn website and it is expected that within few days it will hit the stores. The company is also planning to launch a 9.7-inch Jelly Bean tablet on September, reports NDTV.
