Jolla To Launch Its First Smartphone In India Via Snapdeal


BANGALORE: Jolla, the Finnish company formed by the group of former Nokia employees is planning on launching its Smartphone with the Sailfish OS into the Indian market. The company revealed the news on its official Twitter page, which will be exclusively available on Snapdeal, reports NDTV gadgets.

Jolla launched its Smartphone with the Sailfish OS last year, and the company’s official site confirms the launch to India, allowing the interested consumers to sign up and get notified when the device is available in India. As of now, the Smartphone is available in Finland and the company has announced its availability in other countries as well this year.

The Jolla Smartphone features a 4.5-inch 540x960 pixels display. It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor clocking a speed of 1.4 GHz alongside a 1GB of RAM. The phone boasts of an 8 Mega pixel rear camera and a 2 Mega pixel front camera too. On the storage side, it comes with a 16 GB memory which is expandable via micro SD card and the phone is powered by a 2100 mAh of battery.

Supposedly, the phone runs on the Sailfish operating system, which is developed by the Nokia employees who worked on the Nokia’s in-house OS Meego which was jointly developed with Intel in 2010.
