Is Samsung's New Eight Core Processor Headed To Power Galaxy S4?

Bangalore: South Korean giant Samsung Electronics unveiled its eight-core Octa Exynos 5 processor at CES expo. According to the rumors, the upcoming Galaxy S IV Smartphone will be powered by this processor. According to Samsung officials, this chip is designed for Smartphones and tablets.

The Octa Exynos 5 chip is faster than its predecessor Exynos 4 and features less power consumption as the chip is fragmented into two sets of quad-core processors that both uses ARM architecture. ARM Cortex A7 and Cortex A15 multicore processors are being paired up in Octa Exynos chip to increase energy efficiency and speed.

The chip is claimed to be much faster than the Google Nexus 10’s dual-core Exynos 5 chip. Report also says that this chip will bring an extraordinary gaming experience to its successor mobile products and will easily manage HD media streaming. As the eight-core processor is 70% more energy efficient than its previous versions it will also have a better battery life.

It is not clear when Samsung is going to release them in the market but we are likely to discover more at the Mobile World Congress expo which will be held in Barcelona in February.
