Intex Adds A 'Jewel' To Its Cloud Series Budget Smartphones

BENGALURU: Priced at 5999 and barely a week after the launch of Aqua Ace II (for 8999), India’s own Smartphone maker has launched the Intex Cloud Jewel, and as of now available exclusively through SnapDeal.

Dual SIM appears to be the primal demand of the Indian consumer market; probably because Indians have no other choice but to activate roaming facility while moving across states, which is a rather normal and pretty acceptable fact for Indians yet as absurd for foreigners and NRI’s. The Cloud Jewel has fulfilled this demand along with providing a 5 inch – 1280 x 720 IPS display, 8MP (w/ led flash)-2MP dual camera set and a 1.0 GHz Quad Core Processor powered by Android 5.1(Lollipop). Considering the storage, the phone boasts an internal RAM of 2GB with built in 16GB ROM which can be expanded up to 32GB.

The budget smart-phone appears to effectively pack impressive features within the price tag while adding yet another phone to the company’s ‘cloud’ series. Featuring Android OS and targeting a customer base of budget phone seekers, the cloud series phones pricing varies from 2500 to 6500 rupees. What’s in a name? For the brand has nothing to do with the cloud computing tech other than its OS’s offerings.

Last year it was reported that, Intex surpassed Micromax in sale of devices to become the leading domestic handset vendor in the country. The company was also the winner of the Mobility Excellence and Mobby’s award of the year.
