India based Notion Ink's Adam tablet ready for pre-order

Bangalore: The long awaited Adam tablet brought out by India based company Notion Ink is finally up for pre-order. The Android based tablet sporting a 10.1 inch display screen is available in four ilks, differing in their prices and few specifications, as per Notion Ink website.

First up is the tablet with Backlit LCD and Wi-Fi feature costing $375.33. This version will ship in 6-8 weeks. The next variant with the same features as the earlier one with the addition of 3G ships in the same time frame at a price of $425.33. The other two varieties include one with Pixel Qi LCD and Wi-FI only ($499.45) and the second one Pixel Qi LCD with Wi-Fi and 3G ($549.99). Both these varieties are reportedly sold out as per the website.

Let us just give you few features of Adam tablet here. Powered by a Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, the tablet features a rotating 3.2MP camera and offers the Pixel Qi touchscreen that blends backlit LCD and e-ink display technology. Adam has 1GB DDR2 RAM and 8GB of internal storageThe tablet is said to be running on the Eden variant of the Android operating system which combines the Honeycomb (Android 3.0) and Gingerbread (Android 2.3). It is said that Eden will be the answer to the various complaints that Android faces for lack of tablet compatibility.
