Huawei Launches Ascend Mate 2- The First Phablet That Can Charge Other Phones

Bangalore: Huawei, China’s largest phone manufacturer is releasing the Ascend Mate2, a phablet which apparently can charge other phones as well.

It comes with an impressive display of 6.1 inch, supported by the efficient battery built with Low-Temperature Poly-Silicon technology.

The phone has a 5-megapixel front camera for video chatting and selfies. The ‘selfies’ can enhance their portraits with the help of a portrait window that pops up on the top right corner of the screen for better focusing. The 13-megapixel rear camera can be used for crystal clear clicks.

The Chinese mobile phone manufacturer claims, the Ascend Mate 2 has a battery backup so huge that it can be used to charge other smaller phones via a USB cable. So, you can be assured that your phone will never go out of charge for at least 3 days for normal usage and half the time with heavy usage.

The Ascend Mate 2 comes with company’s propriety user interface Emotion UI 2.0 and runs on Android 4.2.2 jelly bean.  It uses the 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and has a storage capacity of 2 GB RAM which can be expanded to up to 32 GB externally.   The device supports 4G wireless connections and Bluetooth 4.

Huawei plans to release this phone starting in China from the end of the first quarter. According to Huawei CEO Richard Yu, the Ascend Mate 2 will be available in the US market soon. However he hasn’t provided details on date or pricing.
