BENGALURU: Great features and improved performance, adds on to the excitement of new Android updates. Though many smart phones support the Android M update unveiled in 2015, only a few manufacturers support the Google’s Android 7 (Android Nougat) OS, set to release later this year. Recently HTC has confirmed three of its top Smartphones that will get the Android N update, according to yahoo.com.
HTC has now become the first Smartphone maker to announce Android 7.0 update by the name Nougat for some of its selected handsets. HTC 10, One M9 and One A9 are confirmed to receive all the software upgrade from Android N. Android N too packs some cool new features that will give Apple and its iOS 10 a run for its money.
Android 7.0 (Nougat) features a new split-screen multi-window mode like that of the Samsung Tabs that allows users to run two apps at the same time. This split-screen multi-window mode provides a multi user experience and also comes with a ‘Doze feature,’ a battery saving mode. The split-screen mode was earlier introduced in Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and has been improved. This saves power by sensing when the display is off and if the user is walking, it automatically saves power.
We can also expect some new performance enhancements and visual tweaks in this update. Perhaps one of the biggest features that Android N users experience is the Google’s Daydream VR Platform built on top of Android N. Based on reports, both Daydream-ready phones, as well as VR viewers and motion controllers, will be available this fall.
