HTC Officially Launches Its Mid-Range Smartphone

Bangalore: HTC Desire P and Desire Q, the two mid-range Android Smartphones from HTC, made it to headlines soon after their pictures and Specifications leaked online.

HTC Desire P appeared on HTC’s official website for Taiwan on Monday, and there’s no news about Desire Q’s launch yet, however it is supposed to be placed on company’s website soon.

In terms of specifications, the Desire P has a 4.3-inch Super LCD2 display. The Super LCD screens have been brought in vogue by HTC. The screen eliminates gap between the external glass sheet and the display element, hence acts like a single entity. The users hence experience a clearer and almost closer view. Super LCD screens are also said to have lesser glare, consume lesser power and has improved sunlight legibility.

HTC so far used Super LCD screen in its premium handsets only, and for the first it will be used in the mid-range mobiles too.

The handset, under the hood, packs a 1GHz dual-core processor powered by the Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon S4 Play chipset, coupled with Adreno 203 GPU and 768MB of RAM.

It has 8MP rear shooter with WVGA video recording capabilities. It comes with 4GB built-in storage expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. And for now there’s no clear information weather the device runs on Ice Cream Sandwich or the latest Android version, Jelly Bean.

The device supports micro SIM, and has other connectivity options like Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS with GLONASS, and micro USB slot. And it comes with 1620 mAh battery.
