HTC Desire 500 Launched At 21500, Sports BlinkFeed


Bangalore: The Taiwanese Smartphone maker has launched its new mid range handset, HTC Desire 500 in India. It is available online for orders at 21,500 approximately, and can be found in the retail stores too.

The Smartphone comes with HTC’s acclaimed BlinkFeed, first time to the desire range, which transforms the screen into a customizable stream of live information. The device sports a 4.3 inch WVGA display, at 480x800 pixels resolution, which is a common resolution among LCD projectors.

Under the hood it packs a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 200 Quad-core processor at a clock rate of 1.2 GHz. The processor is coupled with Adreno 203 GPU and 1 GB RAM, and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The device comes with 4 GB onboard that can be expanded to 64 GB via microSD card.

When it comes to optics, the device has an 8 MP rear shooter with a dedicated HTC Image Chip processor, accompanied by LED flash. The front camera is 1.6 MP.

Desire 500 packs a 1,800mAh battery that can deliver up to 17.8 hours of talk time and 401 hours of standby time.

The device has Video Highlights features that allow users to take stills and videos from one event or days’ shooting and compiles them into a 30-second reel, and music can be set according to five themes available. When it comes to sound, the users may miss BoomSound, a part of HTC One series, but Desire 500 comes with HTC’s Beats Audio.

HTC is also expected to launch the much awaited HTC One mini, compact version of its flagship HTC One in India soon.
