HTC 10 Set to be Unveiled in April
BENGALURU: Taiwanese HTC has already started preparing the ground for the next big release from its stables—the unveiling of HTC 10 on April12, 2016. The company has announced that it will have simultaneous events in New York, London and Taipei. The launch date also corroborates the earlier reports that claimed April launch for HTC 10 flagship smartphone.
Based on the leaks and rumors, the HTC 10 smartphone is set to feature a 5.15-inch Super LCD 5 display with QHD (1440x2560 pixels) resolution. The handset is also said to pack a 3000mAh battery, which if turns out to be true will be largest battery in HTC's flagship phones so far. To put some context, the HTC One M9 packed a 2840mAh battery, while the HTC One (M8) featured a 2600mAh battery, as reported by Ketan Pratap for Gadgets 360.
Earlier rumor sources also claim we're looking at a metal build (not a surprise) with a fingerprint scanner, IP78 water and dust proofing, and a 3,000mAh battery. If all this is true, it does suggest HTC has listened to many reviews and criticisms of its previous models. And yet more photos have leaked as of March 11, once again. There's not much here in terms of the phone's design that we haven't seen already, but what is relatively new is the preview of the new Sense UI build overlaid on Android. It's also worth noting, however, is the presence of a pair of capacitive controls flanking a fingerprint scanner; an interesting move as previous HTC models used Android's on-screen touch controls for navigation.
Some of the other rumored specifications of the HTC 10 claim a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor; Adreno 530 GPU; 4GB of RAM; a 12-megapixel rear camera, and a USB Type-C port. Some of the leaked images of the unannounced handset have suggested that it will sport metal build with broad chamfered edges and a physical home button below the display, along with two capacitive buttons.
HTC in an attempt to create buzz around its upcoming flagship has already claimed that the HTC 10 will sport "World First, World Class" front and back cameras. With everything said and done let’s wait for the original HTC 10 which will be unveiled and brought to light on April 12, 2016.
