New Delhi: Hewlett Packard (HP) unveiled its range of touch-screen and wireless printers 'HP Touchsmart series' priced at Rs. 6,000 onwards. "We think touch screen will become a common feature across printers going forward," said Ravi Aggarwal, President, Imaging and Printing Group (IPG), HP India.

The new line-up of HP Photosmart touch-enabled printers have been designed exclusively for the urban trend-setters - including children, youth, and professionals working out of home - who are looking for easy user- interface and good design. The range includes HP Photosmart Premium C309G All-in-One (AIO), HP Photosmart Plus B209A AIO, HP Photosmart C4688 AIO and HP Photosmart C4788 AIO printers.

The company, which has about 75 percent market share in the AIO category in India, is looking at consolidating its position further. The AIO category includes a combination of printer, copier and scanner. "We have a 75 percent market share in the AIO category and would look at building this further," Aggarwal said.

HP Vice President (Consumer Go-To-Market and Inkjet and Web Solutions - IPG Asia Pacific and Japan) Christoph Schell said India accounted for about 15 percent revenues of the division in the region. "India is an important market for us. In the Asia Pacific region it accounts for about 15 percent of the revenues of the Imaging and Printing Group and we want to increase this further," Schell said. Quoting a Technopak report, HP said the Indian touchscreen market is expected to hit $9 billion by 2015, growing at a Compound Annual Growth Rate of 14 percent.
