Get a New iPhone Every Year with Apple's Upgrade Program


BANGALORE: Apart from launching 8 different products and services on the September 9 event, Apple has a new program- iPhone Upgrade Program for its customers that provides them with a new iPhone every year, reports The Verge.

The 24-month installment agreement, similar to the ones offered by the four major US carriers, allows the users to swap their old phones with new ones after paying installments. However the company hasn’t shed light on whether users can quit the agreement.

The best aspect of the program is that it includes the AppleCare+ insurance for just $32 a month for two years whereas it costs $129 exclusive the program. The concept of making consecutive payments and receiving latest phones along with the service coverage is available in US stores.

AT&T offers an upgrade after 18 months, Sprint will help in upgrading in regions where new releases are made and T-Mobile offers 12 months program for an upgrade. Verizon however, offers the longest installment plan of 24-months. 

AppleCare+ offers hardware warranty for two full years, accidental damage coverage is actually worth the value. The AppleCare+ coverage still allows for two In case of occurrence of accidental damage AppleCare+ coverage replaces the device twice charging a fee of $99 which is better than buying an entirely new device or a certain part of it. However, when it comes to owning the latest version of the iPhone, customers should stick to iPhone Upgrade Program.
