First Window 8 Tablet Might be 'HP Slate 8'

Bangalore: A leaked internal presentation of HP reveals that the company is working on a Window 8 tablet. According to the rumors, this new tablet is named ‘HP Slate 8’ and will run on Microsoft’s brand new Window 8 OS having the ability to give you a capacitive touchscreen experience.

HP Slate 8 will be thinner than the Apple’s new iPad and will sport a 10.1-inch display and will be engineered on x86 architecture.

HP Slate 8 is meant to be a business tablet with enterprise level functionalities like enterprise level docking, security features including HP ProtectTools, TPM embedded security, and support for Computrace.  The tablet is only 9.2mm thin; it comes with aluminum body weighing just .68 kg and will have a battery life of 8-10 hours.

It is pretty sure that Window 8 devices will be released by the end of 2012 and this murmur about HP slate 8 shows that this might be the first one in this category to hit the market. Hope this Window tablet comes with a favoring price tag to compete in this market which is presently ruled by Apple and Android.
