Confirmed! LG is Not Making Google Nexus 5

Bangalore: LG doesn’t have plans of making the LG Nexus 5 or a Google Edition version of one of its flagship devices, revealed an LG executive in an interview with a publication. “The Nexus 4 was a great marketing success for the company but we will not make the Nexus 5,” said Won Kim, LG Mobile Europe Vice President, as reported by Android Authority.

He also added that such a device is not necessary for LG’s brand and profits and the company doesn’t have any plans to counter the Galaxy S4 edition with a Nexus version. Apparently, the company believes in its value of user interface and is least interested in releasing devices running stock Android.

Recently, LG announced the white Nexus 4, a handset similar to the black version except for the color. Earlier this year, rumors claimed that LG is working on a new Nexus Smartphone. Even though the two companies won’t cooperate on a new Nexus device, LG mentioned in their comments that its relationship with Google is in good terms.

Although LG has confirmed that it’s not working on Nexus 5 currently, it would still consider such a proposal from Google, added Won Kim.
