Bangalore: Market Analysts around the world are positive about Apple releasing an affordable iPhone sometime in the middle of 2013.

According to a recent research by Brian White, the iPhone which is to be released in early June 2013 would either be called iPhone Mini or iPhone Air. As per White, the company’s research stated that Apple would pave the way for a lower priced iPhone as it uncovered iPhone is different screen sizes for a potential launch in May or June.

The price for the budget iPhone would range from $250 to $300 without contract subsidies. This would be around 60 percent lower than most of the affordable iPhone 5, 16GB versions priced at $ 649. White also cited that Chinese Manufacturer Xiaomi would be a potential competitor to the company’s reputation of offering ‘high end’ Smartphones with reasonable price points.

The interesting idea behind Apple here is how the company would successfully expand to reach emerging markets despite earning gross margins 10 to 15 points lower than what it earns presently.

According to White, such a move would progress Apple due to growth potential in the markets such as Brazil, Russia and India.
