Bangalore: The 7 inch Amazon Kindle Fire was one of the strongest competitor for Apple ipad. When rumors around the web are circulating about Apple to release a smaller version of iPad, the Apple’s rival is just doing opposite.
Amazon is planning to launch a 10.1 inch Kindle Fire in the third quarter of this year, reports DigiTimes. “Tablet PC orders from Amazon are expected to start gaining momentum at the end of the second quarter or in early third quarter, said the sources. Including shipments of an entry-level as well as an advanced 7-inch Kindle Fire tablet, Amazon is expected to ship 30-40 million tablet PCs in 2012, the sources estimated.”
The launch date of this rumored 10.1 inch Amazon tablet may coincide with the date of Apple’s expected launch of iPad mini. Details about tablet specification and pricing are not available. Hope the Amazon larger tablet will also compete with Apple iPad as its 7 inch tablet did in the past.
