Acer and Lenovo to Introduce Quad Core Tablets


Bangalore: Asus Transformer Prime is the single dominator in the quad core tablet market has set Acer and Lenovo quad core tablet plans in motion.

According to Digitimes, "Acer and Lenovo are set to launch quad-core tablet PCs featuring Google's Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and Nvidia's Tegra 3 in the first quarter to compete against Asus and Samsung Electronics."

Asus Transformer Prime has been one of the most talked about tablets in recent days. Equipped with a 10.1inch touch screen and 1280 x 800 pixel resolutions, Powered by Tegra 3 and Android Honeycomb. Transformer Prime comes strapped with an impressive 8-mega pixel camera at the back and a 1.3-mega pixel camera on the front. Priced at 25,000 approx for the 32GB and 30,000 approx for the 64GB variant, Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime, weighs just over 1.1kg and measures 8.3mm in thinness.

Acer working on its quad core tablet dubbed A510. Featuring a 1280 x 800 pixel display along Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS, A510 will be powered by Nvidia's Tegra 3. There are also rumors about a 3G and WiFi enabled version of the tablet called A511.

Similarly Lenovo we will be looking at seeing 10.1 inch tablet powered by Android 4.0 and Tegra 3. This unnamed tablet is expected to sport a 1.6 GHz processor along with a 2 GB of RAM making it one of the fastest tablets ever.
