#9 Blackberry 850

Announced on 12th July, 1999, BlackBerry 850 was one of the first mobile devices released under the BlackBerry brand name. The device sported a user selectable 6 or 8 line display had QWERTY Keyboard which was a new idea at that time, and had a thumb-operated trackwheel and ESC key. It had 4 MB flash memory plus 512 Kbytes SRAM, Microprocessor 32-bit processor and embedded RIM wireless modem, for wireless internet, which had the compatibility to integrate with an existing enterprise email account— again a novel act at that time.

The device also sported wireless Calendar, wireless Internet, and Paging, but no call capabiltities. User Interface had intuitive icons and menus.

In the three months following its announcement RIM's stock went up 50 percent from just over $22 to around $33.50, as the wireless company focused its sights on business customers.
