6. CueCat Scanner:
This was a cat shaped barcode scanner which provided information about the scanned product by directing the users to the related websites, it also used to ask information about its users like email id, gender and zip code. This new device became more of trouble than use for its makers as customer started encrypting and hacking their CueCat, thinking they will get access a wide range of product information stored in the company database and also the details about its thousands of users. This caused legal problem to the company and the product died off.
7. 3Com Audrey:
This was a simple machine developed to access internet and lets you see email and webpages. The device was released in 2000 and was intended for women to use in their kitchen. It didn’t survive even three months, may be the consumers of that time were not that interested in simplified devices for computing.
