Bangalore: Last week Sony rolled out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Xperia P smartphone. Now the company has announced the availability of Android 4.0.4 ICS updated for its eight Xperia smartphones which were launched in 2011. The 2011 models which are getting updates are Xperia Arc, Xperia Arc S, Xperia Neo, Xperia Neo V, Xperia Mini, Xperia Pro, Xperia Active and Xperia Ray.
The ICS update will features bug fixes, performance tweaks and other improvements. Some other smartphone like Xperia Mini Pro, Xperia Neo L and Xperia Live with Walkman will also get update in next few weeks.
For those device which have already running Android Ice Cream Sandwich will get this update as notification which can be installed Over-the-Air (OTA) using Wi-Fi or network data. If the phone is still running on Android 2.3 operating system, then it should be upgraded using PC companion for windows or Bridge for Mac.
