Motorola’s DynaTAC 8000x was the first commercially available cellular phone to the public. DynaTAC was an abbreviation of Dynamic Adaptive Total Area Coverage. The phone was manufacture by the team working under Martin Cooper, a former general manager for the systems division at Motorola. The phone was priced at, $3,995.

It offered 30 minutes of talk time and 8 hours of standby battery and a LED display for dialing or remind of one of the 30 phone numbers.
