Bangalore: Quad-core processors are the next big thing in the gadget world, some of the newly launched tablets and smartphones are smarter than your PCs with these high-performing chips inside them. Dual-core processors were launched a year back and they ruled the market and are still ruling. The same is expected to happen with the coming of Quad-core. Before we define the fate of this these chips, let’s have a review about the common myths which is revolving around these processors and how they will affect the story of smartphones.

Myth No.1: At the End Chip is a Chip!

In the real world scenario the differentiation of performance of a Quad-core smartphone and a Dual-core one is hardly noticeable. This statement can be supported by the example of HTC's One X which has an Nvidia's quad-core Tegra 3 chip in its world-wide version and a Qualcomm's dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor in its U.S. version. The performance of both these models is in line and there is hardly any difference. Chips does what it is meant to do, but the real logic of chip math, its circuitry, its complications and the percentage raise in performance is not of much concern for a common guy.
