5 Cool Laptops that Turns into Tablets

Bangalore: The practice of creating hybrids is not limited to biology. Now a day gadget world is carrying out this trend is a large scale. The first form of hybrids which we came across was the huge screen smartphone which we called ‘Phablets’ because they were a blend of phone and tablet. Now the upcoming hybrid breed is the mutated form of laptop and tablet. Not sure what to call them, ‘tabtops or laplets’, but they have the best of both the world and for now we are just calling them convertible laptops.

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga was first showcased at CES 2012. The company treats this convertible device first as a laptop and second as a tablet. It simply flips 360 degree and converts itself into a tablet from a laptop. The device features a 13.3-inch touchscreen with 1,600x900-pixel resolution, 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of SSD storage, weighs just 1.4 kilogram and has a thickness 0.67 inch. Powered by Intel’s third generation processor Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga runs on Window 8 operating system and is supposed to reach the market by the end of this year.

Pros: Its dual-hinge design makes it sturdier than the single-hinge convertible tablet PCs. Its unique design allows it to stand like a tent, making it to use like a tablet with stand. The leather covered palmrest give better grip when its transforms into a tablet.

Cons: It is quite hefty with its 1.47kg mass which acts as a drawback when you are using it as a tablet. This IdeaPad Yoga is going to be pricy for sure with the latest touch-enabled Window 8 OS and all those twist n turns.
