Atari 2600 was the foundation on which all our present day game consoles are built. The Atari 2600 was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame at The Strong in Rochester, New York in 2007. It has even been credited as the second greatest video game console of all times by IGN in the year 2009. IGN even went on to say that this is the console that the entire gaming industry is built upon.
