2. Samsung Series 5 and Series 7 Slates – Half Tablet, Half Laptop

The recently showcased Samsung Series 5 and Series 7 slates are tablets which come with a dock which makes them act like a thin tablet and a full-fledged laptop at the same time. With these hybrid devices Samsung made their famous S Pen have a jump to Window 8 platform.

The two 11-inch tablets looks more or less same, the only difference is that the Series 5 is powered Atom-based Clover Trail processor while the Series 7 comes with superpower of Intel Core i5. Both the device has a magnetic hinged keyboard dock; the company has made the dock sturdier by using latch-based mechanism.

By the end of October, 2012 Series 5 will come in the market clocked with 2GB of RAM and a 64GB solid-state drive and the Series 7 will be available with 4GB of RAM and  a 128GB SSD.
