10 Unsolved Queries About Microsoft Surface

8. Why Isn’t Microsoft Building The Surface With A Hardware Partner?

A question that keeps crossing our minds is what made the software giant suddenly decides to make their own hardware. Since Microsoft hasn’t shed any little on the reason behind choosing to make their own hardware instead of partnering with their usual partners we can only come to conclusions by observing the tablet industry.

One major reason behind this massive shift could be Microsoft’s rivals Apple. They might have observed the profits and the advantages that Apple had because they built both hardware as well as software.

Probably they might have even considered partnering with their hardware partners, but the partnership might have proved unsuitable. For example Sony produces well designed hardware but they are priced very high, Acer and Asus are rumored to have management issues, and since they are based in Asia Microsoft can’t have the control they would have actually wanted.
