The resolution of 1366 x 768 is the most common resolution available for laptop screens. This resolution is fine as long as the screen size is less than 13 inch. When we use a screen size bigger than 15 inch, this resolution may make things to appear bigger. Therefore, it is important to make sure the kind of resolution we wish to use as well as the size of the screen.

# Memory

Most people confuse this term with the disk size. Memory is the RAM. RAM is that type of memory, which programs can use. Any entry-level laptop should have at least 2 gb of RAM when running Linux. RAM size entirely depends on the kind of work a person is doing.

For advance video editing and gaming, 8 gb RAM would be necessary. While most of the general computing can be done on a 2 gb RAM laptop, still it is recommended to use 4 gb as some of the 64-bit CPU architecture needs more RAM.
