Sony claims the Xperia Ion is the competitor for Samsung Galaxy S III and HTC One X. Like the other smartphones Xperia Ion also follows the trend of large screen, it comes with a 4.6-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels. The device is powered by a fast 1.5 GHz Dual Core processor, an Adreno 220 GPU (Graphic Processing Unit) and runs on outdated Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. The company has promised that the smartphone would soon to be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
