BSNL Penta T-Pad IS701R has a 7-inch resistive touch screen with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. The budget tablet from BSNL runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. The device is powered with a 1 GHZ process and is backed with a 256 MB DDR2 RAM.  It  has only 2 GB internal memory but has a slot for a microSD card which enabled the memory to be expanded up to 32 GB. It comes with a 0.3 mega pixel front facing camera which enabled the user to make video calls.

The tablet has access to the Google Store from which it can download unlimited games and interesting apps. The tablet comes with three physical buttons at the bottom of the screen; Home, Option and Back. It has an HDMI port at the bottom which allows the user to connect the tablet to the LCD or LED  HDTV and view the same contents on a larger screen.
