7. No App Store in Original iPhone, Jobs Hated Third Party Developers

The original iPhone was launched without the App store. It’s not because Apple hadn’t thought about it, it’s just that Steve Jobs didn’t wanted to deal with third party developer.

Walter Isaacson's biography of Jobs mentions that “Jobs didn't want outsiders to create applications for the iPhone that could mess it up, infect it with viruses or pollute its integrity,".
